Joe Shamash joined PIDG in October 2016. Joe previously worked as Social Performance and Results Manager for the DFID Impact Programme, a UKAID initiative to foster impact investment growth in Sub Saharan Africa and South Asia, working in partnership with CDC, PwC, the Global Impact Investing Network, and regional impact funds and foundations. He also worked as an impact management and research project consultant for range of clients including investors, NGOs and institutions. Prior to this, Joe worked for City & Guilds, the UK’s largest vocational education organisation, on research and development projects with a focus on underserved populations in the UK and in emerging markets.
Joe manages the Private Infrastructure Development Group’s evaluation programme, focussing on gathering insights into PIDG project impacts to support portfolio management and learning, and provide accountability to PIDG members, partners and the public.
Joe has an MSc in International Business and Development from Birkbeck, University of London.
